"The Washington Wizards have made it clear that they're open for business when it comes to potential trades. Looking back at the abundance of moves from general manager Will Dawkins over the last year, Washington's front office has proven time and time again that if a deal makes sense, they won't be shy to pull the trigger. Hence the key words "makes sense.""
"Considering the Wizards offloaded Kuzma's contract ahead of the NBA trade deadline in February in exchange for a deal headlined by the lucrative contract of Khris Middleton, it's hard to believe Washington would essentially back track by taking Kuzma's deal back on the books. Not only were the Wizards motivated to move on from Kuzma's contract when they pulled the trigger on the deal with the Bucks, but they were also thrilled by the chance to move on from the disgruntled forward."
Washington Wizards remain open to making trades but will only pursue deals that clearly benefit their rebuilding process. General manager Will Dawkins has actively executed numerous transactions, demonstrating willingness to trade when terms align with team goals. A mock trade proposing CJ McCollum for Kyle Kuzma, Andre Jackson Jr. and a 2032 first-round pick swap would require Washington to re-assume Kuzma's contract. The Wizards previously moved Kuzma to acquire Khris Middleton and to remove Kuzma's inconsistent play and negative attitude. Kuzma's departure coincided with an improved team culture and the integration of promising young prospects.
