"I'll be sitting out tonight's game, and as I've said before, we have an elite coaching staff at KU, and I know our players are in good hands in Boulder. Jacque Vaughn will serve as the acting head coach tonight. He will rely on our great group of coaches, Jeremy Case, Kurtis Townsend, Joe Dooley and Tony Bland, throughout the game to lead the team."
"I'm feeling much better and I want to thank the well-wishers and the great team at LMH Health,"
Bill Self was hospitalized after feeling under the weather, received IV fluids and did not travel with the team to Colorado. He reported feeling much better and thanked well-wishers and the LMH Health staff. Jacque Vaughn will serve as acting head coach for the game, supported by assistants Jeremy Case, Kurtis Townsend, Joe Dooley and Tony Bland. Self, 63, has had multiple recent cardiac issues, including hospitalizations in 2023 and July that resulted in heart catheterizations and stent placements. Self has coached Kansas since 2003, won two national championships and led a lengthy Big 12 title streak.
