Beverly Hills police shut down Jaylen Brown's brand event during NBA All-Star Weekend
""The owner didn't say we needed a permit," Brown told the officer in the video."
""300k down the drain," Brown wrote in a post on X after the incident, tagging the Beverly Hills Police Department."
""An event permit had been applied for and denied by the City due to previous violations associated with events at the address," BHPD said in a statement."
""Despite the fact that the permit was denied, organizers still chose to proceed with inviting hundreds of guests knowing that it was not allowed to occur," the statement continued."
Jaylen Brown hosted a brand event at Oakley founder Jim Jannard's Trousdale residence during NBA All-Star festivities in Los Angeles. Beverly Hills police shut the event down around 7 p.m., and video shows Brown arguing with an officer. Brown said the homeowner did not inform organizers that a permit was required and described the gathering as a panel on culture rather than a party. Brown posted "300k down the drain" on X and tagged the police. The Beverly Hills Police Department said an event permit had been applied for and denied because of previous violations at the address, and organizers proceeded to invite hundreds despite the denial. Brown said he felt targeted by the city.
