Lime reports record e-scooter ridership as NYC continues to embrace micro-mobility vehicles
Briefly

Lime has achieved a significant milestone in March 2025 by recording 169,860 e-scooter trips in the Bronx and Queens, more than doubling its ridership from the previous year. This increase represents a 105% jump from February, highlighting a growing reliance on micro-mobility in NYC. The rise in trips can be attributed to Lime’s expansion and NYC's pilot program which has made e-scooters more accessible across the boroughs. Despite the success, concerns about improper parking and urban clutter have prompted calls for operational pauses to address safety and accessibility.
March set an all-time monthly record for Lime ridership with 169,860 total trips in Queens and the Bronx, more than doubling last year’s numbers.
Nicole Yearwood stated, 'More and more New Yorkers are relying on Lime as a safe, convenient way to get around, using our e-scooters for commuting...'
So far in 2025, Lime riders in the Bronx and Queens have taken over 380,000 trips, surpassing the company’s total ridership for 2024.
The expansion into eastern Queens last year was pivotal, as NYC aims to extend micro-mobility options across all five boroughs.
