Chainsaw artist honors parents with whimsical birdhouses
Briefly

John Bourquin of Salem County, NJ, has turned a therapeutic activity into a passion by crafting unique birdhouses with a chainsaw for over nine years. After the loss of his parents, who owned a Christmas tree farm, he learned to repurpose leftover trees into birdhouses. Each creation, taking just 20 minutes, is dedicated to his parents. Despite facing challenges from Autonomic Dysfunction, Bourquin's commitment to his craft remains strong, and he operates his business, Johnny B's Handcrafted Bird Houses, in honor of his father.
After the passing of my parents, I needed a way to cope. Crafting these birdhouses not only honors them but also brings me joy.
Each birdhouse is crafted in just 20 minutes, but the way I pour my heart into each one, makes them truly one-of-a-kind.
