Sayee Chaitanya Reddy Devagiri pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, admitting involvement in a scheme that fraudulently extracted more than $2.5 million from DoorDash. He and three accomplices placed high-value orders using customer accounts and manipulated DoorDashâs software to falsely report deliveries. The fraud involved claiming payment for non-existent deliveries by exploiting employee credentials. Devagiri, who is awaiting sentencing, could face up to 20 years in prison.
Devagiri admitted to working with three others in 2020 and 2021 to defraud the delivery company, manipulating DoorDashâs systems to claim payments for deliveries that never occurred.
Federal prosecutors stated that Devagiri's scheme involved using customer accounts to place high-value orders, leveraging an employee's credentials to access the company's software.
