Rocking the Boat, a Bronx-based nonprofit teaching youth boatbuilding and environmental science, gained recognition at a fundraiser in Midtown Manhattan hosted by David Byrne's Reasons to be Cheerful. The event celebrated community initiatives with performances by various artists and highlighted Rocking the Boat's impact on youth development and environmental stewardship. Founded in the South Bronx, the nonprofit aims to empower young people through hands-on training. Executive director Adam Green emphasized using wooden boats to support youths' development and raise awareness of their work along the Bronx River and Central Park.
