John Goodman, the Hollywood actor, has lowered the price of his New Orleans home by $700,000 just two months after listing it at $5.45 million. Goodman and his wife have lived in the home for more than 20 years, initially moving to Louisiana from Los Angeles in 1989. Their decision to sell the property comes shortly after their California home was destroyed in January wildfires. At first, Goodman and his family moved into what the actor previously described as a 'haunted' house... However, that three-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home proved to be too eerie for the family.
Goodman purchased his stunning four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom property in the city's Garden District, from Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, paying $1.8 million in an off-market deal.
The listing notes that they 'perfectly balanced' the older elements with some 'modern luxury'... This meticulously maintained property features deep double galleries overlooking lush gardens.
It’s unclear what prompted their decision to list the property, however its appearance on the market came just three weeks after their longtime home in California was razed by the January wildfires.
