"Three brothers, including two of the nation's most successful luxury real estate brokers, were convicted of sex trafficking charges on Monday after a five-week trial over accusations that they used drugs and force to rape scores of women they had dazzled with their wealth and opulent lifestyle."
"The women described attacks that occurred after they were invited to vacation locales including the Hamptons, a Caribbean cruise and a ski trip in Aspen, Colorado. More than 60 women say they were raped by one or more of the brothers, according to prosecutors."
"During the trial, many of the women who testified said they believed they had been drugged after they were handed alcohol by one of the brothers. Some described feeling like they had lost control of their bodies after less than one drink."
Three brothers—twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 38, and Tal Alexander, 39—were convicted of sex trafficking charges following a five-week trial. Eleven women testified about sexual assaults occurring after being invited to luxury vacations in the Hamptons, Caribbean, and Aspen. Prosecutors allege over 60 women were raped by one or more brothers. The defendants, former brokers at Douglas Elliman real estate firm, admitted to being womanizers but claimed all sexual contact was consensual. Defense attorneys suggested accusers had faulty memories or sought financial gain. Many victims reported believing they were drugged after consuming minimal alcohol provided by the brothers. The case generated approximately two dozen civil lawsuits, including one from Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles star Tracy Tutor, alleging assault in a restaurant bathroom.
