Three candidates — Zohran Mamdani (34, Assembly member and frontrunner), Andrew Cuomo (67, independent, former governor), and Curtis Sliwa (71, Republican) — clashed in a contentious New York City mayoral debate. Mamdani faced repeated attacks over alleged inexperience and his pro‑Palestinian advocacy. Cuomo said Mamdani had "never had a job" and warned that President Trump would relish a Mamdani victory, using the word "tuchus." Sliwa mocked Mamdani’s resume and accused him of supporting "global jihad," while also blasting both rivals for "fighting like kids in a school yard." Cuomo confronted questions about past sexual‑harassment allegations and urged seriousness and maturity in government.
