The New York Times Leads the Movement to Stop Zohran Mamdani
Briefly

Zohran Mamdani's campaign for the Democratic mayoral nomination is under fire from prominent editorial boards like the New York Times and the New York Post, labeling him inexperienced and unfit for the role. The New York Times compared his qualifications unfavorably with those of Andrew Cuomo, suggesting that Mamdani's political agenda mirrors the unpopular policies of former Mayor de Blasio. Additionally, a pro-Cuomo super PAC has launched a significant negative advertising campaign against him. Despite the backlash, Mamdani is experiencing a rise in support from influential figures like Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the primary approaches.
Mr. Mamdani would also bring less relevant experience than perhaps any mayor in New York history. He has never run a government department or private organization of any size.
We do not believe that Mr. Mamdani deserves a spot on New Yorkers' ballots. His experience is too thin, and his agenda reads like a turbocharged version of Mr. de Blasio's dismaying mayoralty.
Opposition to Mamdani is also building on the airwaves. Politico reported Saturday that Fix the City, a pro-Cuomo super PAC is dropping $5.4 million worth of negative ads on Mamdani.
Mamdani said he would not defund the police if elected mayor. This statement comes amid increased scrutiny over his views and campaign intentions.
