For the specialized high school admissions this year, New York City revealed stark racial disparities. Staten Island Technical High School admitted just one Black student and five Hispanic students out of 289 offers. The breakdown shows that 93% of offers were made to white and Asian students. Citywide, only 3% of offers went to Black students and 7% to Hispanic students, while the majority went to Asian students.
