San Jose District 3 candidates ramp up fundraising for June runoff - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

In the lead-up to the June 24 runoff election for the San Jose City Council District 3 seat, candidates Gabby Chavez-Lopez and Anthony Tordillos have ramped up their fundraising efforts significantly. Tordillos leads with $266,522 raised, adding $103,009 since the April 8 election, while Chavez-Lopez has raised $65,959. Tordillos, who recently received endorsements from prominent figures, emphasizes his campaign's focus on pressing issues like housing and public safety. Conversely, Chavez-Lopez boasts community-driven funding and a strong grassroots presence, distinguishing her approach from Tordillos' self-funding strategies.
Tordillos is ahead of Chavez-Lopez by roughly $40,000 and said it shows the momentum of support his campaign has gathered since the April election.
Chavez-Lopez said her campaign has also seen a swell of momentum. She said her funds have mostly come from individual residents, small businesses and other members of the community.
San Jose residents want a councilmember they can count on to go to bat for them on housing, homelessness and public safety.
The difference with my campaign is that it's fueled by community and it's really supported by a grassroots effort.
