Briefly

Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso hosted a panel for Women's History Month honoring Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman elected to Congress. Held at the Brooklyn Children's Museum, the event featured former colleagues discussing her influence on future generations of leaders. While acknowledging her passing in 2005, speakers like Annette Robinson emphasized Chisholm's enduring legacy, claiming her career motivated many, including young Black women, to pursue leadership roles. The event reflected on the importance of her contributions and was co-hosted by Delta Sigma Theta sorority, which Chisholm was part of, further highlighting her impact on women’s history.
