Over 100 cyclists, pedestrians and victims gathered at Central Park to stop e-bike riding in NYC parks
Briefly

A rally in Central Park drew over 100 attendees, including cyclists and victims of e-vehicle collisions, to advocate against e-bike use in NYC parks. They urged the City Council to support Intro 0060, which would prohibit e-vehicles in parks, citing numerous injuries from accidents. Janet Schroeder from the NYC e-vehicle Safety Alliance emphasized that parks should be for recreation, not transportation. Personal testimonies, like Sanja Vohl's tragic encounter with an e-bike that caused severe injuries to her and her husband, reinforced the urgency for increased safety regulations against e-bikes in public spaces.
We have over 200 cyclists in EVSA, and many who have been seriously injured by e-bikes, as well as many pedestrians.
Both of us were hit at the same time by one e-bike... My husband has traumatic brain injury, bleeding on his brain.
