NY-7 congressional race: Meet the candidates running to replace Nydia Velazquez

New Yorkers in New York’s 7th Congressional District will vote to choose a successor to Rep. Nydia Velázquez after she announced retirement. The race features multiple progressive candidates from Brooklyn and Queens and has become one of the most closely watched Democratic primaries in New York City. The district covers parts of western Queens and north Brooklyn, including Long Island City, Greenpoint, and Williamsburg, and has long been considered highly progressive.
