Chief Administrative Judge Joseph A. Zayas appointed Judge E. Danielle Jose-Decker as administrative judge of the Third Judicial District on March 13, 2026. She oversees trial court operations in Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties. Jose-Decker, elected in 2020 as Sullivan County's first woman county court judge, has served as supervising judge since 2024, overseeing 118 town and village courts. Zayas praised her as an innovative leader committed to equity and inclusion with expertise in court operations and community needs across urban, suburban, and rural areas. Jose-Decker's background includes work at the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office, private practice in matrimonial and family law, and service as municipal attorney. She holds an Albany Law School degree and serves as surrogate, acting Family Court judge, and acting Supreme Court justice.
