Gounardes, Gonzalez-Rojas push CREEP Act for survivors
Briefly

State Senator Andrew Gounardes and Assemblymember Jessica González-Rojas, alongside advocates, are advocating for the passage of the CREEP Act in Albany. This legislation seeks to provide court-ordered protections for victims of cyberstalking, revenge porn, doxxing, and deep fakes. With its introduction, New York aims to align itself with 43 other states that already have similar measures in place. Advocates stress the urgency of updating legislation to address the challenges posed by modern technology on personal safety.
Technology has transformed our lives, but in the era of cyberstalking, revenge porn and deep fakes, our laws haven't kept up.
As a survivor and lifelong advocate for survivors' justice, I am honored to stand alongside my colleagues and fellow advocates in pushing for stronger protections for New Yorkers through the CREEP Act.
