Brian Kilmeade, a host on Fox & Friends, mocked Newark Mayor Ras Baraka after his arrest for trespassing at an ICE protest, framing it as a publicity stunt for Baraka's gubernatorial campaign. Baraka was arrested while protesting against immigration policies and criticized the federal prosecutors for what he perceived as humiliation tactics. Kilmeade dismissed concerns about Baraka's arrest, intertwining his commentary with critiques regarding the rights of deportees and depicting the context of Baraka's actions as politically motivated, questioning public interest in the matter.
He is running for governor. No one cares. This gets him some publicity. It's going to be fascinating. And I know, in the Constitution, George Washington, our Founding Fathers definitely wanted to make sure illegal criminals, murderers and rapists got their rights, especially when they don't deserve them.
Baraka blasted federal prosecutors on Thursday, accusing them of trying to humiliate and degrade him after being ordered to provide fingerprints and a mugshot for the second time regarding a trespassing charge.
