During dueling protests at Gracie Mansion on March 7, an improvised explosive device was thrown toward a far-right rally led by Jake Lang. Police confirmed the device could have caused serious injury or death. Two counterprotesters, Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi, were arrested at the scene. The "Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City" rally drew approximately 20 participants, while the counterdemonstration "Run the Nazis out of New York City" attracted roughly 125 people.
