On May 13, 2025, Connie Jones was honored as the Woman of Distinction for New York State Senate District 23 due to her remarkable contributions to the Coney Island community over five decades. Recognized by State Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton, Jones's work included assisting survivors of domestic violence at Amethyst Women's Project and coordinating programs for the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island. Additionally, she has led the Nurses Ministry at Coney Island Cathedral for over 30 years and achieved valedictorian honors in both the NYPD Citizens Police Academy and DYCD Family Development Program.
