Andrew Cuomo supporters don't like any other NYC mayoral candidate, poll shows
Briefly

A recent Marist Poll reveals Andrew Cuomo as the frontrunner in the upcoming ranked-choice Democratic primary, securing about 37% of likely voters. Notably, many of his supporters are disinclined to select other candidates, with the most common secondary choice being 'nobody.' In a simulated ranked-choice voting scenario, Cuomo maintained a clear lead with an eventual winning percentage of 53%, while his nearest competitor, Zohran Mamdani, garnered only 29%. The poll also hints at a notable anti-Cuomo sentiment among certain voters, though its impact remains unclear.
The largest subset of Cuomo voters in the poll ranked the former governor first - and then left the rest of their ballots blank.
Cuomo started as the top choice for 44%, then inched toward the finish line - eventually winning with 53% in Round 5.
