Novato police arrested Benjamin Douglas Buckley, 39, after he allegedly kidnapped a 3-year-old child on Wednesday morning in the Hamilton neighborhood. The incident occurred during a family dispute on Martin Drive around 10:30 a.m. Police located Buckley and the child after they exited a vehicle on Center Road. The child was safely reunited with relatives with no injuries sustained. Buckley was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping, willful cruelty to a child, and cruelty to an elder or dependent adult. His bail was set at $500,000. The Marin County District Attorney's Office was reviewing police reports to determine whether to file formal charges.
