At Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School, the graduating class features 15 sets of twins among its 447 seniors, highlighting a fascinating sibling dynamic. Most twins have attended the district since kindergarten, forming a unique camaraderie through their shared experiences. While some twins bear striking resemblances, teachers appreciate that all are fraternal, making identification easier. Parents also supported each other through a twin support group, further cultivating connections. These relationships enhance emotional and academic success, with seniors planning to attend various colleges while maintaining their close ties as twins.
"Most, if not all, have been in the district since kindergarten," Timothy Lamb, the school's assistant principal, told Today. "Some teachers don't even know they're twins, even though some do look alike."
Meredith Brake, the mother of twins Emily and Amanda, praised the twins' group for its unique camaraderie: "It was a great place to know you weren't alone in this journey."
Chloe and Aidan Manzo will even be going to the same college, the University of Florida, further solidifying their strong twin bond.
Senior Sydney Monka shared about her twin Ben, saying, "It means knowing I never have to go through anything alone. He helps me both emotionally and academically."
