On National Primary Offer Day, Havering reported that 89.1% of children received their first-choice primary school, with 98.8% receiving one of their choices. The council processed 3,212 applications, showing a marked improvement from the previous year's figures. Only 44 children were assigned to schools they hadn’t applied for, reflecting effective planning by the School Admissions team. Councillor Oscar Ford emphasized the challenges but highlighted the team's commitment and success in placing children in suitable educational environments. Parents have until April 30 to accept the offers made.
Almost all children in Havering (98.8 pc) were offered one of their listed preferences, an improvement on last year's figure of 97.7 pc.
Councillor Oscar Ford praised the hard work of the school admissions team in successfully delivering school place allocations, acknowledging the high demand for excellent teaching.
