'He's doing really well' - Father of boy (11) in ICU after being stabbed by classmate in Dublin school
Briefly

A distressing incident occurred at a North Dublin primary school where a young boy allegedly stabbed his 11-year-old classmate with a penknife. The injured boy, Mason, suffered a critical wound but is now recovering in ICU. His father expressed concerns about the lack of communication from the school following the attack and emphasized the impact on Mason's younger brother who witnessed the event. Under current laws, the assailant cannot face legal action due to his age, raising questions about accountability in such serious incidents.
A stab-wound to the middle of his back, a couple of centimetres away from a main artery. It could have been a lot worse, I was asked to go in and comfort him.
Despite being in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in hospital, he said that little Mason is 'doing really well' and that 'he's a little fighter'.
Mason's younger brother was in the yard at the time, and had just seen Mason and his teacher, and blood pouring from his back.
Under the Children's Act, a child under the age of 12 is incapable of committing an offence, although there are exceptions for some offences.
