Jacob O'Brien, who has a medical condition affecting his development, was supported by his classmates from Grand-Barachois School to join their 8th grade trip to Quebec City. His peers demonstrated unparalleled loyalty and empathy, insisting that they would not leave him behind. Coach Atlantic responded to the students' wishes by purchasing a wheelchair-accessible coach to accommodate Jacob, making the dream trip possible. This initiative not only allowed Jacob to participate in a significant moment but also underscored the importance of inclusion and solidarity among students.
When we heard this story, that the students didn't want to go on the trip if Jacob couldn't go too, like everyone else, the decision was very easy to make.
Jacob deserves to be on the bus, make the 10-hour drive to Quebec City and eat all the sweets and chips he wants with all the other students.
