Enreeka Nalasco, a former substitute teacher, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for exploiting two middle school girls by providing them with vape pens and marijuana in exchange for sexual acts. The girls, aged 12, were students at Nautilus Middle School in 2022. Following a plea agreement, Nalasco will serve a minimum of 15 years, along with extensive probation, and has been barred from contacting his victims or using social media. His actions drew outrage from authorities, emphasizing the need for protecting minors from such predatory behaviors.
"I take accountability and apologize to everyone I hurt. I'm sorry. I hope they can forgive me," Nalasco stated during his sentencing, expressing remorse.
"Enreeka Nalasco will be unable to exploit again," said Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle, highlighting the impact of his sentencing on future offenses.
