A 2-year-old boy in Maryland survived a fall from the 15th floor of a high-rise building after landing on bushes and mulch. The child fell from a private balcony when his parents were home, and remarkably, he remained conscious upon impact. Although he sustained traumatic injuries, he only incurred a broken arm. Officials have described the survival as miraculous, attributing it to the presence of the bushes and the child's small size. The incident is under investigation by Montgomery County police.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service Assistant Chief David Pazos stated, '[It's] miraculous. I think it was a combination of those bushes being there, those shrubs, and his size and weight.'
The toddler, who fell from a private balcony, suffered traumatic injuries but only had a broken arm as the obvious injury following the 15-story fall.
