The school previously faced backlash after a 2023 commencement speech by Fatima Mousa Mohammed that attacked Israel and the NYPD, leading to cancellation of student speakers the next year. In 2025, graduates boycotted the ceremony and walked out to stage a pro-Palestine demonstration where Ramzi Kassem addressed the crowd.
