The Wildlife Conservation Society has reached a $990k settlement related to a class action lawsuit claiming it violated New York law by failing to disclose processing fees for electronic tickets. The settlement compensates those who bought Bronx Zoo tickets online between specific dates and were charged fees. Although the organization denies wrongdoing, it will not charge processing fees in the future. Class members can submit claims for a share of the settlement using only their ticket order number by the July 21 deadline.
The settlement payout will benefit anyone who purchased electronic tickets to the Bronx Zoo from the Bronx Zoo website between August 28, 2022, and January 16, 2024, and was charged processing fees.
Under the terms of the settlement class members will receive a proportional share of the settlement based on the amount they paid in processing fees.
The organization is not admitting any wrongdoing through the lawsuit - choosing instead to settle with financial payments to those affected.
But the key date to remember is July 21, because this is the deadline for submitting a valid claim form.
