Seven new public schools are set to open in New York City by the 2025-2026 school year, as announced by Mayor Eric Adams and Public Schools Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos. These schools, located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island, aim to provide additional classroom space, and specialized programs for students with learning disabilities. Collectively, they will offer nearly 4,000 new seats, catering to diverse educational needs while promoting inclusivity and flexibility in learning environments.
We know it takes a city to raise a child, and our administration understands that investing in our children's education is investing in the future of our city, Adams said.
Each of these schools embodies an innovative model tailored to meet the unique needs of our diverse communities and to equip students with skills for an evolving future, Aviles-Ramos said.
