Eraserhead Xiu Xiu is a new live concert with an accompanying film and a full-length album inspired by David Lynch’s Eraserhead. The project uses field recordings, concert-specific homemade instruments, organ, modular synths, vocals, flashlights, electrical interference, and elements of musique concrete. The sound and visuals aim to express bizarre emotionality, conflicted sexuality, relentless darkness, and an unsettled moonscape. The release is scheduled for July 10 via Polyvinyl and will be available on vinyl, CD, and VHS. A version of “In Heaven” is available with a video. West Coast shows in October include Eraserhead performances in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
