On May 31, 2023, the Hudson River became a vibrant center of Ukrainian culture during a Grand Opening event for the 2025 Ukrainian Boat season in New York City. Despite unfavorable weather, over 600 attendees celebrated with music, food, and dance on a Circle Line cruise ship. The event highlighted the resilience of Ukrainian identity abroad, as noted by Denys Kanel, the organizer.
