Thom Yorke debuted a new solo song titled “Space Walk” at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards on May 21, 2026. He performed the piece on piano with an emotional delivery and shared contemplative lyrics about floating, a choice that is no choice, rising above Earth, and the passing of today. Yorke was inducted into the Ivors Academy during the ceremony by Harry Styles. He also performed an acoustic version of Radiohead’s “Jigsaw Falling into Place.” The debut followed teasing from Ed O’Brien that Yorke has a new solo album coming later in the year.
"During his emotional performance of the piano-based “Space Walk,” Yorke revealed its contemplative lyrics: “In these moments, when you float/ A choice that is no choice at all/ Soon you'll be high above the Earth/ But today will be along soon.”"
