The best spots to see Manhattanhenge from NYC's outer boroughs
Briefly

This week, New Yorkers can enjoy the unique Manhattanhenge phenomenon where the setting sun aligns with the city's grid. The phenomenon provides an amazing opportunity to see a 'half sun' on Wednesday at 8:13 p.m. and a 'full sun' on Thursday at 8:12 p.m. For the best views, Dr. Jackie Faherty, an astronomer, suggests locations such as Hunter's Point South Park and Gantry State Park in Queens, which offer unobstructed perspectives as well as picturesque reflections on the waterfront.
The key is for an unobstructed view across the grid of Manhattan, and you want to be as far east as you can get to experience the full effect.
Gantry State Park is my favorite spot to catch the annual phenomenon. You can look straight across what is considered one of the best views.
