Shane MacGowans Pub will open in New York City by taking over 250 W. 14th Street in the West Village, the former location of McKenna's Pub. The owners state they are opening the space with Shane MacGowan’s family’s blessing and will bring his raw, poetic Irish punk spirit to the neighborhood. No opening date is provided, and the venue’s socials indicate “Coming Soon.” A related release, 20th Century Paddy: The Songs of Shane MacGowan, arrives on November 13 and includes renditions by Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Dropkick Murphys, U2, The Libertines, Primal Scream, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Kate Moss, and others.
