Paul Simon, at age 83, is returning to the stage with his 'A Quiet Celebration' Tour after a 2018 farewell. Set to feature his album 'Seven Psalms' and classics, Simon's performances will address his hearing challenges, which he faced while recording. The tour will capitalize on intimate venues to provide better acoustics, allowing Simon to perform in a comfortable setting. Starting April 4 and wrapping August 3, it will include special guest Edie Brickell and a reduced choice of acoustic music.
Recording 2023's 'Seven Psalms', Simon faced hearing loss, which initially seemed to end his live performances. After consultations, he restructured his stage set to adapt.
I'm revisiting my songs with a focus on acoustic versions. The quieter environment of intimate theaters will better accommodate my hearing challenges.
