NJ woman celebrating 24th birthday identified as victim in Dominican Republic nightclub roof collapse
Briefly

Jennifer Contreras, a 24-year-old woman from Passaic, New Jersey, lost her life in a tragic nightclub roof collapse in the Dominican Republic, which resulted in 225 fatalities. She was in the Dominican Republic for a beauty certification program. Her sister Luz shared their close bond and revealed Jennifer's desire to have her family celebrate her birthday with her. The family has started a crowdfunding campaign to cover the costs of transporting her body back to the US and arranging a funeral amidst their grief.
Everybody knew, everybody who knows us, knew, she was my best friend, my partner in crime, we always did everything together.
Jennifer was the most kind hearted, loving, and soft person. She was an incredible daughter, sister, friend, cousin, and more.
Because Jennifer's remains are in the Dominican Republic the financial burden of the logistics, mortuary services in both countries, and funeral services here in United states has put a stress on us and our family in this difficult time.
Luz said her younger sister wanted her to take a trip to the Island to celebrate, but was ultimately unable to get off work.
