Kazuo 'Kaz' Kajimura, a key figure in Northern California's jazz scene and the long-time operator of Yoshi's in Oakland, has passed away at the age of 62. His legacy includes transforming Yoshi's from a modest restaurant into a world-renowned music venue that hosted iconic artists for over fifty years. Kajimura was known for his tireless work ethic, often working 12-16 hour days, and fostering a vibrant community through music and cultural events. His impact on the jazz music landscape will be profoundly missed.
