The Hudson River Musical Festival, which honors the legacy of folk singer Pete Seeger and his wife Toshi, is relaunching after a pause. This revamp is spearheaded by Mitzi Elkes, Hal Cohen, and Roy Volpe of RiverFest FPS. It is scheduled for June 14 at Croton Point Park and will feature over 40 musicians, aiming to blend nostalgia with innovation while honoring environmental themes. The festival kicks off with performances by notable artists, including Tom Chapin, and strives to maintain the spirit of its predecessors while bringing a fresh perspective to the event.
"We're reinventing and rejuvenating the spirit of past festivals and reinventing it as the Hudson River Music Festival," said Elkes, emphasizing the festival's connection to Pete Seeger's legacy.
"The one-day music marathon kicks off with Tom Chapin whose performance will include some songs by Pete Seeger, celebrating his timeless classics the festival was originally founded on."
