Don't cry, Broadway-Rachel Zegler will bring her Evita to NYC

Rachel Zegler will return as Eva Perón in Jamie Lloyd’s revival of Evita when the production transfers to Broadway in spring 2027. The London run at the Palladium sold out and became a major theater event due to stripped-down staging and Zegler’s acclaimed performance. The production won multiple Olivier Awards, including Best Actress in a Musical for Zegler. Broadway performances will begin at the Winter Garden on February 27, 2027, with an opening night scheduled for March 25. The balcony staging of “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” from London will not transfer to Broadway, because of concerns about safety in New York City. Evita follows Eva Perón’s rise from humble beginnings to a polarizing public figure in Argentina.
