The 2025 Summer Events Series at Cornell University promises a lively mix of free concerts and educational talks from July 9 to August 1. Organised by Cornell School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions, this series maintains a rich tradition of offering free summer events. Concerts will be held on the Ag Quad due to construction, and in addition to music, there will be lectures resembling TED Talks followed by Q&A sessions. The events aim to connect the university with the Ithaca community, fostering enjoyment and intellectual growth for all attendees.
"We're proud to have continued this tradition more than 125 years," said Mary Loeffelholz, dean of Cornell SCE. "Cornell is such an expansive university in terms of our intellectual breadth and depth, global reach and community impact. Cornell SCE's summer events bring some of this expansiveness back home to Ithaca, for everyone who wants to keep learning and have fun while doing it."
"It's a pleasure to invite the Cornell community and area residents and visitors to our beautiful summer campus to enjoy outdoor concerts and lectures by today's important thinkers," Loeffelholz said.
"Many local and regional dancers come to our shows to dance up a storm," he said. "Our summer concert series is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to enjoy music, regardless of their background or connection to the university."
The Summer Events Series promises a vibrant blend of free entertainment and learning, open to all, hosted by Cornell SCE on Wednesdays and Fridays this summer.
