Reba Meyers, guitarist-singer of Code Orange, has released a new solo single titled "Clouded World" and announced a US tour in August. This track, recorded at Electrical Audio by the late Steve Albini, showcases his signature sound. In a press release, Meyers emphasized the beauty of life's imperfections and the importance of embracing randomness. The song critiques the modern human experience, drawing attention to distractions that move us further from primal instincts. "Clouded World" will also serve as the title track for her debut solo album set for early 2026.
Steve championed the medium of physical recordings, and that process inherently encourages the commitment to imperfection. I hope to embrace the randomness and grit of life.
Too many aspects of the modern human condition feel entirely over-labored and orchestrated. We have drifted far from our primal instincts and gotten distracted by the tools we have.
The track certainly bears Albini's trademark sound with its twisted guitars and massive drum production, as well as Meyers' snarly delivery, reminiscent of Steve's work with PJ Harvey.
Meyers announced her US tour dates for August, coinciding with the release of her single 'Clouded World,' which will be the title track of her debut solo album.
