Bruce Springsteen releases "Adelita" from lost album Inyo
Briefly

Bruce Springsteen has unveiled his previously unreleased track "Adelita," which will feature in his forthcoming compilation album, 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums.' The song, influenced by mariachi music, hails from a lost 1990s album titled Inyo. Inspired by the cultural richness of corridos and Mexican history amidst border reporting, Springsteen regards Inyo as a favorite. He mentions that during his time on 'The Ghost Of Tom Joad Tour,' he pursued similar thematic writing, culminating in this project. 'Tracks II' will offer seven previously unreleased albums, encompassing 82 songs recorded between 1983 and 2018.
"It was a big part of your life," Springsteen explained, calling Inyo one of his favorite albums. "Inyo was a record I wrote in California during long drives along the California aqueduct..."
"Adelita" is a salute to soldaderas, or women who acted as military members during the Mexican Revolution, showcasing Springsteen's impactful storytelling and homage to history.
