Brooklyn Mirage has been grappling with a series of setbacks, resulting in multiple performance cancellations. Following an initial cancellation of their opening weekend, the venue failed a safety inspection on May 1, prompting further cancellations and relocations of shows. Artists such as Loud Luxury, The Martinez Brothers, and Peggy Gou have been affected, with Gou's performance cancelled entirely. Communication from the venue has been sparse, with updates primarily driven by the affected artists, raising concerns about when operations may return to normal under city guidelines.
For their part, neither the venue nor its CEO Josh Wyatt, who told Brooklyn Magazine the venue would "100%" be ready to open on May 1, posted anything since their initial statement on May 2.
New York it pains me to say this, but due to circumstances beyond our control, my show at Brooklyn Mirage this Sunday won't be able to take place,
