Bring Me the Horizon Singer Suffers Mild Concussion After Idiot Throws Phone at Him
Oli Sykes was hit in the head by a phone thrown from the crowd during Bring Me the Horizon’s May 11 Monday night show at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. He was struck while performing “Happy Song” early in the set and reacted in real time. Afterward he rubbed his temple and appeared to struggle, though he finished the show. The band removed “YOUtopia” from the set, and Sykes did not enter the crowd during “Drown.” On Instagram stories, Sykes said swelling had already decreased and that singing increased pressure and disorientation, but he expected to be fine for the Kansas City gig and subsequent dates, including May 16 at Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio.
"Alright everyone - just wanted to let you know I'm all good. The phone to the head definitely smarted and I ended up with a mild concussion, but the swelling's gone down a decent amount already."
