Bay Area superstar dropped from festival bill due to Israel comments
Briefly

Kehlani was disinvited from performing at Cornell's Slope Day due to backlash over her political statements regarding Israel and Palestine. The university's president cited concerns from the community about Kehlani's perceived antisemitic sentiments, which were detailed in petitions from student groups. In a video statement, Kehlani clarified her stance, emphasizing her opposition to genocide, particularly against Palestinians, and asserted her support for human rights. She expressed frustration at being repeatedly asked to clarify her positions on these matters.
I am being asked and called to clarify and make a statement yet again for the millionth time that I am not antisemitic nor anti-Jew. I am anti-genocide.
In the days since Kehlani was announced, I have heard grave concerns from our community that many are angry, hurt, and confused that Slope Day would feature a performer who has espoused antisemitic, anti-Israel sentiments.
