A sweeping, 140-foot multimedia installation is turning Lincoln Center into a portrait of NYC
"Within the tableau is a play of performance as well as life behind the stage or even out of the venues and onto the streets. This, for me, is the special part of New York City and why Lincoln Center is such an incredible institution. There is no place in the world where what happens on stage is so well-reflected with what happens on the street."
"The 140-foot digital mural spans photography, video and 'physical intervention,' on view in David Geffen Hall and across Lincoln Center's public video installation network along 65th Street, capturing the shared experiences between everyday life and performance."
Lincoln Center has unveiled a new multimedia installation by multidisciplinary artist Josh S. Rose titled Lincoln Center Arrival Tableau, NYC. The 140-foot digital mural spans photography, video, and physical intervention, displayed in David Geffen Hall and across Lincoln Center's public video installation network along 65th Street. The installation captures shared experiences between everyday life and performance, featuring imagery from all of Lincoln Center's cultural institutions including the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, Juilliard School, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. The work documents performers, students, and audiences both inside venues and on surrounding streets, creating a comprehensive portrait of New York's performing arts ecosystem and celebrating the unique relationship between staged performance and street life in the city.
