'Warming trend' to herald spring in NYC before temps drop again next week: forecast
"According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will start climbing into the 50s Friday, just in time for the spring equinox, and will reach the 60s on Saturday and Sunday. NWS said this "warming trend" follows days of below-average chills this week, including real-feel temperatures in the 20s and 30s."
"Agency meteorologist James Connolly said temperatures this time of year normally hover around 50 degrees. But colder air will return on Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the mid-to-upper 40s, Connolly said."
"As for precipitation, most of the weekend will be dry after a frontal system comes through Friday night into early Saturday morning. "We're expecting up to a quarter inch of rain," Connolly said. "Not a lot, but enough to wet the ground and produce a little moisture out there.""
